Frequently Asked Questions
How is GPA calculated?
Multiply each course's grade points by its credit hours to get quality points. Sum all quality points and divide by the total credit hours.
What is the difference between weighted and unweighted GPA?
A weighted GPA accounts for credit hours — courses worth more credits have a greater impact on your GPA. An unweighted GPA treats every course equally.
Is an A+ worth more than an A?
On the standard 4.0 scale used here, both A+ and A are valued at 4.0. Some institutions use a 4.3 scale where A+ is worth 4.3.
