Frequently Asked Questions
What types of QR codes can this read?
This tool can decode any standard QR code, including those containing URLs, plain text, Wi-Fi credentials, contact info (vCard), calendar events, and more.
Which browsers are supported?
This tool uses the BarcodeDetector Web API, which is supported in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Opera. Safari and Firefox do not currently support this API. If your browser is not supported, you will see a message suggesting a compatible browser.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens entirely in your browser. Your image never leaves your device, ensuring complete privacy.
Why is the QR code not being detected?
Make sure the QR code in your image is clear, not blurry, and not partially cropped. The image should have good contrast between the QR code and its background. Try using a higher-resolution image if possible.
Can I scan a QR code from a screenshot?
Yes! You can take a screenshot of a QR code and either upload the image file or paste it directly using Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on Mac).
